Live four letter domain auction! An unusual phenomenon…?
Mar 21

Firstly, a big thank you to Reece of 4 Letter Noob for, once again, providing us with an excellent resource for evaluating our LLLL.com’s and providing vital information for new prospective buyers!

It seems quality over quantity has prevailed once again this month according to Reece’s latest findings. High quality quad premium domains are up 39% from a minimum $400 wholesale to $556. It just goes to show that good quality premium letter combinations are by far the most desirable four letter domains. Lets not forget however, that if we did not see a buyout in the first place and there were still lesser quality domains available to hand register the price of quad premiums would not be so high. Where would a leader be if there was no population to rule?

Lower quality names are still struggling somewhat in the current marketplace. I myself haven’t bought any new names for a few weeks now and have not kept myself as up to date as I should, but it seems that lower quality names have lost their foothold recently. However, this does not necessarily mean that prices will continue to fall. Don’t forget, this has already happened once before back in December 2007. I have read that many domainers believe this to be market correction and I would have to agree. Any market that spirals out of control will eventually level out and stabilise. This is exactly what we are seeing today. Once it has reached equilibrium the market can once again continue to rise and grow. Patience will be rewarded.

As always I advise you to take a look at the price guide before you buy any LLLL.com domains to get a good understanding of their current market value.
