Time for change! The one that got away…
Jan 21

Ive spent countless hours tonight checking all the usual quad letter domain venues including TDNAM, Ebay, Sedo, Namepros, DomainState and Snap. In doing so I’ve stumbled on one problem: The buying strategy I used last week just isn’t working this week! Setting a limit of $40 per name just isn’t enough!

Four letter domains have appreciated so much in value over the last two weeks that I am now struggling to find names for less than $50! We are so close to a minimum wholesale of $50 per name its crazy! Even the anti-premium dregs are selling for $40-$50 each! Four letter dot com’s are being bought up left right and centre and every day I see more and more people on Namepros starting out in this business, jumping on the bandwagon and buying up as many LLLL.com’s as they can afford… It means that with increased competition, higher demand, and more exposure we are seeing prices escalate at an extraordinary rate.

A change in buying strategy required? Definately! I need to look past previous purchases and stop comparing domains I see now to domains I bought months ago for reg fee. Its impossible to buy them for this price now, move on and start buying at current market value however tough it may be I just loath paying so much more for the same domains a few months or even just weeks on. At least any LLLL.com investor can look back at the portfolio they have created over the past months and smile, I know I am!
