Lorenzo (also known as ItalianDragon) pointed out the latest DNJournal sales report today to highlight some of the excellent four letter domain sales to be seen this month. These sales tend to go largely unnoticed, overshadowed by the huge sales of generic dictionary names such as cruises.co.uk - the biggest .uk sale ever reported which changed hands for £560,000 ($1,099,798).
I came home tonight, sat down to run another all premium LLLL.net scan and found that they were all taken! I did come across three domains that were still showing as available but upon trying to register them it seems they had already gone to someone else. I will need to check with GoDaddy in a couple of days to make sure they reverse the charges to my account because after I completed checkout they took my money even though I didn’t have the domains! Not sure why this happened because their system allowed me to add the domains to my cart and go through the checkout process…
I’m finding it hard keeping the site up-to-date with the available premium LLLL.net scans so I thought I would write just one blog post and keep it up-to-date with a list of all of my scans and of course the last scan I have done. Here are the lists:
The list I published an hour ago is now out of date! A further 643 domains have been registered in the past hour! There are now only 5700 left. I have re-run the list of available domains for those of you who still want to buy some. To see the list CLICK HERE!
This is crazy! All of a sudden people are going mental for premium LLLL.net’s. My last scan two weeks ago showed 15,000+ available and I anticipated a growth rate of 2000 per month resulting in an August 2008 buyout. How wrong could I be! Over 7000 premium 4 letter dot net domains have been registered in the last 2 days!
I’m not sure what has sparked this, but all of a sudden people are going mad for LLLL.net’s! This can only be good news for anyone involved in the 4 letter domain marketplace no matter what the extension. The LLLL.net countdown thread at Namepros has seen a lot of activity in the past few days and many members are asking for lists of all available premium LLLL.net’s. They are running out extremely quickly and a lot faster than I had anticipated.
Even though four letter domains are a relatively small niche there is still masses of information to take in on a daily basis. Searching the many buying venues for savvy purchase options, reading as many quad letter domain news sites as possible and browsing domain forums until the early hours of the morning.
In an effort to understand in which direction the LLLL.net market is heading and to understand its growth, every month I will carry out a scan of all premium LLLL.net’s. In the future if (when) all premium four letter dot net’s have been registered I will expand my search and scan all 456,976 possible combinations to analyse the entire market. For now though I will focus on quad premium names until they are all registered.
As much as I like to concentrate on LLLL.com’s because in this market we are seeing the greatest appreciation, I still have a vested interest in anything quad letter. For this reason I will always continue my research into other areas of the quad letter domain market and it is with other TLD’s that market trends vary and help to increase the price of four letter dot com’s.
Earlier today I said that there was a fair amount of interest in how many all premium letter LLLL.net’s are currently registered/available. Well, I have now scanned all 83,521 possible combinations and have found that there are 17,571 domains still available to register, that’s just 21% left! Here are the stats:
