I have been participating in many auctions on Ebay for LLLL.com’s lately. Today a particular auction caught my eye. The domain for sale was OHUF.com for which I was willing to bid up to $100-$120. I watched the auction end at $156.50, not a bad sale for a triple premium VCVC combination but nothing amazing, or is it? I think so, and the reason is that after the auction closed I was scrolling through my ‘Items I Didn’t Win’ and noticed that I had previously bid on the very same name.
Ohuf.com was listed for sale on Ebay back in December 2007 and ended exactly 1 day less than a month ago for $56 having not met the reserve. Today the name saw a $100.50 increase in less than a month, and I, a quad letter domain investor who was only willing to pay $40 for it in December trebled my offer (without knowing it, I hasten to add) to buy the name today and it sold for treble what it would have done less than one month ago! How’s that for market appreciation!!
