The first all premium LLLL.net scan of 2008… Time for change!
Jan 20

In an effort to understand in which direction the LLLL.net market is heading and to understand its growth, every month I will carry out a scan of all premium LLLL.net’s. In the future if (when) all premium four letter dot net’s have been registered I will expand my search and scan all 456,976 possible combinations to analyse the entire market. For now though I will focus on quad premium names until they are all registered.

So, onto the results! After scanning all 83,521 possible premium combinations I found that there are 15519 domains still available to register. This may seem like a lot but if we take a look at my previous results from the end of December 2007 this is 2052 less than last month!

This means the number of registered domains has increased by 2.45%. There are now just 18.58% left!

Here are the stats:

Possible combinations: 83,521
Available: 15,519 / 18.58%

What does this mean? It means that the LLLL.net market is heading in the right direction. The more LLLL.net’s that are registered the more this will influence and increase the value of LLLL.com’s. However, if we continue to see the same market growth each month it will take until August 2008 before we see an all premium LLLL.net buyout.

Many people are suggesting we will see a four letter dot net buyout by the end of this year. Judging by these results this is very far fetched, there simply isn’t enough growth to support that argument. Don’t forget, once all of the premium combinations are registered there are still approximately 350,000 triple, semi and anti-premium domains that must be bought out.

Hopefully when I carry out a scan in February, fingers crossed, we will see an even bigger growth rate! In the mean time I would suggest taking a look at the available domain list and registering a handful of all premium names to keep for a few years just in case.

    Hi Andy,

There are 456,976 possible letter combinations for any LLLL variety… I’m not entirely sure how many LLLL.net’s are registered in total. It’s certainly something I need to explore to get a full understanding of the entire quad letter dot net market place.
The most reliable data I have for a complete scan was from April last year. 46% of domains had been registered. Obviously this data is out of date but I would expect at least 55-60% of names to be registered now.

    Thanks for the comment. :)

Very nice List! I own just 1 only 4L. net . GSEO.net - stands for google search engine optimization. I will not sell this less than 10k

Thanks Dan, I will be running the same test next month to compare the results and market growth once again.

Nice name, i’ve noticed it on your portfolio website before. Have you tried buying the .com equivalent? That would be a great set of names to sell!

    Rich :)

    Hi Richard,

I think that http://www.gseo.com (Genius Electronic Optical) wont be selling there name, as you can see it looks like a very comfortable business. Although the opportunity to propose to sell to them or anyone else could also be on the horizon if I ever decide to.

Nice list, but loots of name are not available :(
Why not replace the list with only available name ?
    Thanks for nice listing.

  8. Richard Says:

    Hi Saso,

Yes, this list is over a week out of date. I was running another scan last night but am having some problems with my computer. I will be posting a new updated list as soon as possible! If you subscribe to the blog you will get updates and be one of the first to see any new lists as I create and upload them. :)

    Thanks,

    Rich
