Seen as its Christmas I thought I would hold a competition! I’ve been stock piling LLLL.com domains for some time now and began monitoring traffic to the names at the beginning of December. The domain that currently has the highest number of unique visits so far this month is ‘tgxz.com’. Why this is getting traffic is anyone’s guess because according to URL Trends it has no significant backlinks, no Alexa traffic rank (although it has 2 Alexa links), no page rank, isn’t DMOZ listed and has no Archive.org history. There may be a company somewhere in the world that uses these initials I guess…
It begs the question, where is the traffic coming from and what are these visitors looking for? But this isn’t what we are trying to determine today! I refer back to a previous article I wrote on the 16th December - ‘Natural Traffic = Development Potential‘. I have decided to offer a prize for the person that can come up with the best or wackiest original idea for a site that I could set up on the domain. It could be an adsense mini site serving a tight niche with little competition, a script available somewhere free on the web that does pretty much anything, a simple one pager with an addictive game, a full blown forum about something that fits the acronym, a shop selling a single or multiple products it really doesn’t matter what it is!
The rules:
1. No adult content
2. One entry/idea per person
3. There can only be one winner and the judges decision is final!
The Prize:
And what do we get in return I hear you cry?! Well I will award the winner of the competition with 500NP$ (Namepros membership required) and backlinks from the site to your own website with full details on how the sites concept was created and by who! Once a winner has been declared, and dependant on its success I may hold another competition to create a logo for the site and further competitions in the future!
