Ive been struggling to decide on what area of the LLLL.com market I should concentrate… There are just so many! Pronounceable, premium, semi premium or even just plain awful? The latest sales figures show that pronounceable domains are still rising at a fast pace and even semi-pronounceable four letter domains are holding excellent ground and now any further investment in these areas will need considerable funding. I’ve been picking what I think is the best of the bunch from the forums and on Ebay whilst ignoring Snap for the most part because of the premium price some people seem to be willing to pay for the daily drops. There are far cheaper places to buy up quad letter names at this stage.
The problem is that I just can’t help but pass up any four letter domain in the $10-$20 range. If I were to flip any names I pick up in this price bracket I could certainly make an easy profit, but as with all of my LLLL names I will be hanging onto them. This leads us to the question… should we build a portfolio of quality or quantity? I think its obvious that the ‘quality’ names will hold their value for sure but if there is a dip in demand in the LLLL.com market (which is unlikely at this stage but still possible) it is the names we hold for ‘quantity’ that will suffer. The ‘anti-premium’ names that have fewer uses and ultimately fewer end users.
The situation I find myself in is questioning whether to pool all of my funds together to buy some killer knock out names or sprinkle the cash in all areas of the marketplace to pick up hundreds of names of a lower quality.
I think, ultimately the way the market trend presents itself now, we will end up at the same result. A good healthy ROI. It really is down to the investor to decide whether they can restrain themselves from picking up the odd bargains here or there or to hold out and snap up the pronounceable or premium names on the market before their value rises above their bank balance. My advice - If you have the funds, maybe the answer to your question is, quantity and quality!
