Once again there was plenty of interest in short domains last night at the Namepros live auction. Every collection of premium LLLL.nets received bids and sold! It was good to see them holding ground at a little over reg fee.

Despite prolonged opposition from quad letter domain pessimists, CVCV.net combinations are holding strong and selling for impressive figures. Evidence is stacking up against the naysayers that declare four letter .net domains have no future. Here are some recent sales figures: Continue reading »

StarsI have decided to publish a month in review article at the end of every month to highlight exactly what has happened over the past thirty days or so. Throughout May it has been another interesting month in the quad letter domain marketplace and just in case you have missed some important articles here are ‘the best bits’.

Vurg of Namepros announced yesterday that he has bought the domain LLLL.com! This is THE four letter domain, it doesn’t get much better than this! I am very pleased that the domain has been bought by someone who is dedicated to the four letter domain niche and wants to develop the name into something that will aid all LLLL.com investors! A thread has been started here to discuss possible ideas for future development.

It was good to see a lot of interest in the quad letter domains up for grabs last night at the Namepros Live Auction. With over 130 bidders ‘in the room’ it was a good turnout although this meant it was hard to snag an absolute bargain but there was still some good deals available.

Date StampI’ve noticed a few sales threads on Namepros recently that have received little interest from prospective buyers even though some of the domains on offer are of a reasonable quality. The majority of the domains in question are CVCV.info’s which were initially bought in bulk and should be fairly easy to shift considering their desirability and the current influx of high value CVCV.com sales. I personally have had much success in selling CVCV.info domains and am always seeking to invest in more.

I hadn’t checked my Sedo domain statistics for a couple of weeks and had left everything running in the background while I worked on other projects. I logged into my Sedo account this morning to find an ‘unusual phenomenon’! One of my quad letter domains had somehow racked up approximately $50 in revenue. It’s very bizarre considering I’ve had this name since the end of 2007 and it has sat happily alongside my other domains pulling in the odd click here and there but nothing quite this ’substantial’.

Dollar BillsA thread started recently at Digital Point saw a member ask the question “Where should I sell my LLLL.com domains?”. The reason for the question was becasue they were having trouble selling their names at any of the usual market venues. Aside from the recent decrease in LLLL.com demand, providing you offer them for sale at a reasonable price they will sell.

I wrote a week or so ago about the need to change my buying strategy. It seems, however, that sellers are drastically changing theirs. As per usual I submitted about ten offers on Sedo last night for LLLL.com’s and waited until this morning to see the result. In the past I would have had one or two responses with higher offers or if I was lucky a 4 letter domain owner would accept there and then.
